Mayors and Ambassadors Scoring the sustainable Development GoalsIt’s a first in history!

The Forum of Mayors 2020 will feature a soccer match bringing together mayors and diplomats on one court. City leaders and Geneva-based ambassadors will team-up and get the ball rolling for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)! Match day is 6 October, lunch time, at the Palais des Nations (Geneva, Switzerland) – the grass field normally reserved for peacocks will turn into a playing field for sporty policymakers and tactical diplomats.

Make sure you don’t miss the most exciting match of the year - where local leaders and diplomats roll up their sleeves and show real action for the global goals.

All necessary measures will be taken to ensure the safety and health of players and spectators.

Let’s get moving for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)! The Forum of Mayors 2020 will bring together mayors and diplomats on a football field. City leaders and Geneva-based ambassadors will team-up to get the ball rolling for the Decade of Action to deliver the SDGs.

COVID-19 alert: In order to ensure compliance with social distancing rules, the match will take place in the form of penalty kicks only.

Delegates enter the Palais through the Pregny Gate (Portail Pregny - see map) entrance, which faces the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) headquarters on the Route de Pregny. In order to obtain your identity badge from the Security Services, you will be< asked to present a valid passport or a national identity card. Your badge is strictly for your own personal use. Please note that delays here are common and lengthy and delegates are unfortunately required to wait in the open air.
